Bruschetta and Spaghetti

I needed to use some extra cheese and tomato we had, so I bought baguette and basil and made bruschetta. It was the second time I’ve used our combo microwave-oven-toaster to bake (the first time being this weekend when we made roasted vegetables). I finally caved and bought balsamic vinegar too at the import shop. Totally worth it.

The spaghetti is made using whole wheat noodles I found at our local supermarket (!) and ground chicken instead of beef because the beef here is VERY fatty. They don’t sell turkey in Japan, as far as I know, so ground turkey isn’t an option. We also used sausage from the import shop. The sauce is a ricotta & parmesan tomato sauce made in Italy but manufactured for Japan. It’s pretty good. We use it regularly.
